Literature & Art

The Charles E. Cheever Jr. Center for Medical Humanities and Ethics harnesses the power of literature, art and music to sharpen powers of observation and interpretation while exploring the creative and human sides of medicine. Electives are offered in each of these areas.

Other offerings include “Connective Tissue,” an annual literary and visual arts journal that showcases the creativity of our campus community, and “Project 6-55,” a short writing exercise that uses six- and 55-word stories as reflection tools to help process significant or challenging experiences. Public events organized by the Center often feature authors, musicians, filmmakers and others in creative professions.
