Dean’s Travel Scholarship
The Office of Student Affairs supports the Center’s Global Health program by making available the Dean’s Travel Scholarship. The amount awarded is determined by the need of each individual student and the continued availability of funds, but in general this scholarship is sufficient to cover the cost of airfare to the elective site. All students enrolled in an approved Global Health elective are eligible to apply for the Dean’s Travel Scholarship and students are only eligible to receive one scholarship per academic year. Finally, students who receive the Paul Brand Scholarship are not eligible to apply for the Deans Travel Scholarship.
The process for applying for the Dean’s Scholarship is as follows:
- Enroll in a Global Health elective.
- Meet with the CMHE Assistant Director of Global Health to identify and develop your international elective.
- Have your site approved by the the Office of International Services (OIS) and complete your pre-departure orientation.
- Meet with the Director of the Office of International Services (OIS) to have your site approved by the University and to complete your pre-departure orientation.
- After approval, OIS will write to the Office of Student Affairs indicating the site has been approved, who will then forward the Deans Scholarship Application.
- The Application should be filled out by each individual student and returned to the Office of Student Affairs for review.
- Within 48 hours a decision will be made.
